Since ancient times, trees have been considered a symbol of life. Trees provide oxygen that we need to breathe and thus make life on earth possible. Through mass clearing, more and more forest is disappearing from our planet. To preserve life, we need to act.
For this reason, Matt Hill launched the non-profit organization in 2014 focussing on global reforestation. “One Tree Planted” gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and support reforestation efforts around the world by donating any amount.
“One Tree Planted” now has a presence in 43 countries around the world with projects to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs and protect habitats for endangered species. Planting trees also has a positive impact on climate change: Rebuilding forests can store more carbon and reduce net carbon emissions.
By 2020, the organization succeeded in planting 10 million trees. And the trend is upward.
